Treatment of nail fungus with celandine

Nail fungus is a fairly common disease that does not cause any special problems for a person in the early stages. However, with the long-term development of pathology, waste products of pathogenic microflora can cause severe intoxication of the body. Many quite effective tools are used in the treatment of the disease, among which celandine differs from nail fungus.

Features of celandine

Celandine is a poisonous plant that releases orange juice when its trunk is broken. In folk medicine, herbs are used in the treatment of many diseases and are an integral part of various treatments. Given that the plant is considered poisonous, a logical question arises: is it possible to treat nail fungus with celandine?

The plant does not have a negative effect on the body when the prescribed dose is observed in the preparation of the drug. By using celandine against nail fungus, you can quickly suppress the growth of pathogenic microflora. This is due to the fact that the plant contains the following components:

  • mineral salts;
  • alkaloids that suppress the inflammatory process;
  • vitamins that restore local immunity;
  • essential oils;
  • antibiotics;
  • organic acids;
  • flavonoids.

By treating nail fungus with celandine, it is fashionable to achieve the following results:

  • to destroy fungal spores;
  • softens affected areas of skin;
  • eliminate inflammation;
  • relieve itching and pain;
  • accelerates the healing of open wounds.

Mountain celandine is considered the most effective tool. However, you can use a plant collected in other areas to treat nail fungus. It is used in the treatment of the disease in the following forms:

  • alcohol tincture;
  • baths;
  • compress;
  • decoction;
  • oils.

The choice of treatment depends mainly on the patient's preferences. You can get the same result in each case.

Juice

With nail fungus you can use celandine juice. Before each treatment session, you should regularly perform the following steps:

  • steam your fingers in hot water;
  • Remove the fungal infection on the nail plate using a pumice stone or other means.

To prepare the juice, you need to slide all parts of the plant through a meat grinder: leaves, stems, flowers. The resulting ointment should be squeezed well. Liquid celandine can be mixed with 70% alcohol in a 1: 1 ratio (the agent is additionally infused during the day) or can be used separately.

The resulting solution is applied to the affected areas of the nail plate 1-2 times a day. The treatment with plant water lasts at least three months and is completed after complete recovery of the damaged parts of the fingers.

In hot weather, it is recommended to use freshly cut celandine juice. The remedy should be treated with hydrogen peroxide before applying to the affected nail.

celandine decoction from nail fungus

The recipe for making mushroom oil includes the following ingredients:

  • 1 liter glass jar with lid;
  • 50 grams of freshly cut celandine;
  • 100-150 ml of sunflower oil, preheated in a water bath or olive oil.

Celandine oil is prepared from nail fungus as follows:

  1. The plant is pre-washed under running water. After that, put it on a tray and wait until the grass is completely dry.
  2. Celandine is put in a glass jar.
  3. The plant is squeezed and cooked oil is poured on it.
  4. The bank is placed out of reach of sunlight. The remedy is infused over a month.
  5. At the end of the allotted time, you need to pass the resulting oil through the gauze.

If desired, the tool can be mixed with lemon juice in a ratio of 1-2 drops with two tablespoons of the latter. These components soften the plate, making it easier to remove the affected part. Treatment of nail fungus with celandine oil is completed after the nail is restored.

You can also use a combination of this tool with 3% vinegar to soften the plate. In this case, the proportions are similar to those used when using lemon juice. The agent obtained by combining celandine oil and vinegar is applied to the affected areas in the form of a compress.

Infusions and decoctions

Alcohol tincture based on celandine is made from freshly chopped herbs. The grass should be pre-washed and dried. Then, the plant is mixed with vodka in a ratio of 2: 1. Tincture ages 12 days. Other recipes use a combination of 250 ml of 70% alcohol and 20 drops of celandine oil. The composition is infused no more than a day.

It is recommended to use the tool with extreme caution as it has a number of contraindications. Initially, you can apply no more than 5 drops of alcohol tincture to the damaged area of the nail plate. In the future, the dose of the drug is gradually increased to 20 drops. The duration of treatment should not exceed two weeks.

To prepare a decoction, you also need washed and dried stems and leaves of the plant. All ingredients are poured into a container and poured with boiling water so that the water completely covers the celandine. Then wrap in a thick cloth in a pan or jar and put in a dark place. The broth should be infused for five days, after which the product should be filtered through a gauze.

To increase the effectiveness of the drug, it is recommended to mix it with olive or vegetable oil in a ratio of 1: 1. This tool is applied 2-3 times a day and the treatment lasts about two weeks.

You will also need fresh leaves and previously dried celandine stems to make another decoction. 5 tablespoons of the plant should be mixed with 6 milliliters of water. Then the composition is put on fire and boiled for a few minutes. After the final stage, the product is brought to room temperature and diluted with cold water. The decoction is applied to the damaged areas of the nails and aged for 30 minutes. This treatment is supplemented with antifungal ointments.

Compresses

Therapeutic compresses derived from celandine are mainly used in the later stages of the disease, when the fungus affects the deep structures of the nail plate. This tool softens the affected area, so that the therapeutic components easily penetrate to a depth.

The product is a mixture of iodine and pre-crushed dried celandine. The product obtained in this way is lightly applied to the damaged nail plate and covered with cellophane. The compress should be stored for more than 20 minutes. It is not recommended to soak your fingers for 3-4 hours at the end of the procedure.

After the compress, it is recommended to treat the damaged nail plate with antifungal ointment. For best results, it is recommended to perform the procedure before bedtime.

Plates

Baths are mainly used to prevent the development of fungal infections. To prepare them, you need to follow these steps:

  • Prepare 5 tablespoons of dried celandine and pour 1, 5 liters of boiling water over it;
  • the composition is put back in the oven and boiled for 5 minutes;
  • The product is diluted with cold water.

The duration of each session with the use of therapeutic baths is not more than 20 minutes.

In the treatment of pathology, a drug based on alkalis from fungi is often used recently. This remedy is sold in many pharmacies and is used to treat various skin imperfections, including papillomas and corns. The plant itself is not part of the product. The drug is mainly used as an adjuvant in the treatment of fungi. It is able to stop the development of the inflammatory process and partially eliminate itching.
